Training Body and Mind

Hi! My name is Mrs. Aria Spear and I am the owner of Empower Family Martial Arts. My journey in Taekwondo began when I was a young teen. I had tried many other kinds of sports and physical activities but because I wasn't very coordinated with any kind of ball and I didn't feel all that graceful, I knew I hadn't found my passion. When I was 15 years old, I was given the opportunity to participate in a taekwondo class for school. I loved it! When I earned the rank of 1st degree black belt I also became a certified instructor. I enjoyed assisting my Sr. Instructor teaching until I moved away to attend University, at which point my martial arts journey was put on pause. Fast forward several years, and my oldest daughter expressed a real interest in trying out taekwondo. Soon after she began, I joined her on the mat, and it didn't take long to realize how much I had missed the training! I was given the opportunity to help instruct again and  discovered that, though I loved my participation in the martial arts, I loved instructing more. Going to taekwondo soon became a family affair. All four of my children have begun their own journey towards black belt. I have witnessed tremendous growth in self-confidence and discipline in each of my children. Training together as a family has been such a blessing, and I loved that we were working towards our goals together. The positive impact martial arts training has had on our family, and my desire to help more people experience what my family has is what helped me decide to start my own academy. My goal is to provide a space where individuals and families can unleash their potential and accomplish their dreams both on and off the training mat. 

Here at Empower Family Martial Arts we strive to build strong, confident, leaders one black belt at a time. Through our carefully orchestrated program we help students build the skills they need to be successful inside and outside of the studio. We teach traditional marital arts with a modern flair to make sure that all our students can defend themselves both physically and mentally.
